Today, Microsoft Teams separates "Chats" and "Teams Posts and Announcements" into two different areas of its application. While functional, we've seen that it causes confusion in practice as it separates conversations that can sometimes be difficult to track.
Recently, Microsoft announced that is going to change:
The idea here is to simplify conversations in Teams into a single area for all chats, posts, and announcements. This helps with the goal to make it easier to communicate and locate the various conversations in your organization by finding them all in the same place.
The preview for the new features starts rolling out later this month. You can read the entire announcement here.
For an even bigger breakdown of what is coming, Microsoft's Teams Blog posted more details with more screenshots here.
